South Africa’s premier three-day stage trail run, the THIRSTI AFRICANX Trailrun, will take place in the Western Cape over the weekend of March 26 to 27.
Trail runners can look forward to a fresh new look and an extraordinary experience.
“We are extremely proud to welcome THIRSTI as the title sponsor of the AFRICANX Trailrun,” said Michael Meyer, founder of the event and MD of Stillwater Sports.
Having already partnered with the likes of The Sharks, Comrades Marathon as well as the Absa Cape Epic, Rob Hoatson, MD of THIRSTI Water, is delighted to add another powerhouse partnership to the stable.
“AFRICANX is a fantastic challenge. Running in excess of 70km over three days will require plenty of hydration and rehydration for these extreme individuals. We’ll keep the athlete’s well fuelled with the best water that nature has to offer – sourced deep from within the Klein Drakensberg mountains, with a unique taste, ultimate hydration and pH of eight.”
Teams of two trail running enthusiasts (male/female/mixed) will be seen battling it out on a route varying in distances each day. Each stage will feature a different route that is guaranteed to keep things exciting, while leaving runners in awe.
Iconic to the THIRSTI AFRICANX Trailrun, all entrants will receive an event hoodie and an exclusive finisher’s T-shirt, among other exciting sponsor gifts.
The THIRSTI AFRICANX Trailrun proudly supports The Timothy James Harlow Foundation (TJHF), a NPO that searches for opportunities to make a difference in the lives of individuals and communities. Suggestions can be sent to entries@stillwatersports.com
