Dunnottar murder accused released on R5 000 bail

Trevor Allen (64) who stands accused of murdering his long-time girlfriend Dianne Chandler (Lehmann) was released on R5000.00 bail by the Nigel Magistrate’s Court this afternoon.

The court ruled that Allen had to be sent to the Sterkfontein Psychiatric Hospital for evaluation.

Chandler (64) was shot at point blank range by Allen at the Azure Pub and Restaurant in Sharon Park, Dunnottar, on September 5.  Chandler’s daughter  allegedly watched as he pulled the trigger.

Allen was arrested later that evening and, prior to his release today, remained in custody at the Nigel Correctional Services.

The case has been postponed to September 22.
