Nigel Crime Report from June 17 to June 24

In Baldwin Street, a vehicle’s rims and tyres were stolen during June 17/18. No suspects were arrested.

A female was visiting her grandmother on June 17 and left her blue Toyota Etios Sedan in front of the building on President Street’s parking area. When she left the house she noticed that her vehicle was missing. Nigel police are still searching for the vehicle and the suspect(s).

 
There was a house break-in in Clarendon Street between the late hours of June 17/18. Spokesperson Sgt Nellie Dwaba said that the burglar broke into the house while the home owner was asleep and stole a television, heater, laptops, DVD player and cellphones.

 
A family argument escalated in Delmas Road after a man assaulted his sister and threatened her life on June 18. He assaulted his father when he was confronted by him. No arrests were made and the sister sustained minor injuries.

 
A family argument broke out in Alra Park on June 18. After trying to defend her mother from her father, the victim was threatened by her brother. Her father hit her and her mother. After a struggle, the victim got away and reported the assault to the Nigel SAPS and her brother and father were arrested.

A woman was woken up in her house by a coloured male pointing a firearm at her face on June 19 in Noycedale. He demanded her to cover her face while other suspects searched the house. She noticed after they left that televisions, sound system, decoder, cellphone and jewellery were missing. Police are searching for the suspects.

 
A security guard caught two males stealing bricks from the site of RDP houses in MacKenzieville on June 19. She called her colleagues for assistance and the suspects were arrested by Nigel SAPS.

 
R15 000 worth of tyres and rims were stolen off a bakkie on June 20 in Visagie Park.

 
On June 20 in Visagie Park a lady received a message on the Visagie Park WhatsApp group informing her that her house was being broken into. When she arrived home, she found that televisions, laptop, Playstation 3, tablet and iPad were stolen. No suspects were arrested.

 
A pedestrian in a wheelchair collided with a motorbike on June 21 alongside Hendrik Verwoerd Avenue. The patient was escorted to hospital. No arrests were made.

 
In Blackberry Avenue in Alra Park, a man was arrested for assaulting his mother and one other victim with a panga. His mother was injured to her head and hand and the other victim was injured to the head. The victims were taken to a nearby hospital and the suspect was arrested for assault on June 22.
