The Nigel SPCA is appealing to residents to consider adopting dogs currently in its care and giving them a chance to find loving, permanent homes.

The organisation is encouraging prospective pet owners to visit the SPCA and meet the dogs available for adoption, many of whom are waiting for families to give them a second chance.

The SPCA said adoption not only provides animals with a safe, loving environment, but also gives families the chance to welcome a loyal companion into their homes.

Residents who are unable to adopt are also encouraged to share information about the dogs with friends, family and on social media.

According to the SPCA, sharing an adoption appeal can help connect animals with potential adopters.

The SPCA handles adoption enquiries from Monday to Thursday between 09:00 and 16:00, and Friday and Saturday between 09:00 and 12:00.
