More arrests by police as Alrapark residents continue to roam the streets

A 30-year-old male was arrested and fined R1 500 for contravention of the Disaster Management Act.

According to Sgt Nellie Dwaba (SAPS Nigel spokesperson) the man was found walking in Sastri Street, Alrapark and when he was asked by police members to produce his permit, he was unable to do so or provide an explanation why he was out walking the streets.

SAPS Nigel, in collaboration with Nigel Metro Police, is patrolling the streets, business sector and industrial areas daily to clamp down on perpetrators who are not adhering to the president’s call for a nationwide lock down.
