Woman’s body found in Ratanda

The murder has shaken the Ratanda community.

The body of a woman was found in the Ratanda area on December 9.

The discovery was made a day before The 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children campaign came to an end on December 10.

Community members on their way to work stumbled across the woman’s body in the field near the Ekhutheni Cemetery near the Vaaldam Road.

According to Ratanda SAPS spokesperson Const Moss Maluleke, the woman, who is estimated to be around 32 years old, sustained a stab wound to her neck and there were bruises on her waist.

Emergency services workers were called and the woman was declared dead on the scene.

The murder has shaken the Ratanda community.
