Cambridge FC drops points at home

“This is football, you win some and you lose some.”

Cambridge FC faced Thembisa Outfit Ambassadors FC on Wednesday at 19:00 at the John Vorster Stadium for the last match of the first round of the SAB League.

“Cambridge started the game well,” said coach Ignatium Maphike.

“For the first 10 minutes, they dominated the game, but soon began allowing the opposing team to distract them.”

Maphike explained the teams were equally matched and that tactical order was the order of the game.

During the first half, Cambridge goalkeeper Tebogo Dlamini misjudged a goal that resulted in Thembisa Ambassadors FC scoring.

During the second half, Cambridge saw various chances to get them onto the scoreboard, but the team couldn’t even the score.

The match ended with a final score of 1-0.

“The team gave it their all,” Maphike said.

“This is football, you win some and you lose some.”

Head coach Godfrey Hermanus expressed his disappointment in the result and said the team should remain positive and move on.
