Items thrown from vehicle

Police on patrol on the morning of February 19 spotted a white Nissan Sentra without a number plate on Nigel Road, heading south.

The vehicle had three occupants and ignored signals to stop by the police who followed them.

When the vehicle drove past the Nokuthela Clinic, police noticed the driver was pointing a firearm at them.

The police members fired warning shots when the occupants of the vehicle threw items from the moving car.

The members seized the two firearms – a black Lorgin 9mm pistol and a silver 9mm pistol without a serial number.

Police called for backup but there was no signal on the radio and the vehicle disappeared.
