Cancer awareness day held

APCOC held a fun day to create awareness.

Members from the Alra Park Can Over Come (APCOC) organisation held an awareness and community fun day on Saturday.

“We want to encourage our community to support cancer patients and their families,” said Jezel Esbend of APCOC.

“ We want to make them aware that we are there to help them and that there is a cancer support group for them to use.”

Esme Segeel, Patricia Magalhaes and Jezel Esbend wore colourful tutus during the event.

Members from the community along with the Geluksdal Cancer Support Group joined APCOC on the day.

The event included a 5km walk to raise awareness, after which the community supported the organisations through various stalls.

“We would like to thank the community for supporting our event,” Esbend said.
