MMC for Community Safety, Letlhogonolo Moseki, on Tuesday accepted the resignation of Deliwe de Lange.
Before her resignation, De Lange held the position of strategic advisor to the MMC for Community Safety.
De Lange is currently under investigation by the National Prosecuting Authorities, AFU and Investigating Directorate for a matter relating to a contract to supply emergency warning equipment for the SAPS.
“We remain committed to reforming local government by appointing only ethical and competent officials that have proven their commitment to public service. I strongly commend Ms De Lange for doing the honourable thing by tendering her resignation to give herself time and space to attend to her personal affairs,” said Moseki.
De Lange’s employment with the City of Ekurhuleni has been terminated with immediate effect.
