Heidelberg reservoir has run dry
Use water sparingly to avoid complete water shortages.
Lesedi Local Municipality municipal manager S’Busiso Dlamini sent out a statement on October 17 regarding the water shortage and water-shedding that is being implemented.
The statement reads that due to the low pressure of the water supply from Rand Water, the reservoir has run dry completely. This has caused most areas in Heidelberg to be without water.
LLM is attempting to reroute water from low-lying areas in an attempt to fill up the reservoir.
The municipality is appealing to the community and residents from refraining to watering their gardens and to use water sparingly.
This needs to be done to ensure that we all can share precious natural resource.
