Truck drivers thanked for their dedication
Campaign also encouraged safe driving habits.
Reinhardt Transport Group, Nigel, conducted a road safety campaign at the weighbridge just outside of Heidelberg on the N3 highway on December 9.
JC Auditors (RTMS) came on board and assisted in the campaign.
The theme for 2022 is ‘Be safe, be alert and courteous at all times’.
Reinhardt safety manager Johan Theron said, “We want to encourage drivers to stay safe over the festive season. This is to show the public we as employers in the transport industry do care about all the truck drivers on the road as well as other road users.
“The main aim is to make all truck drivers aware of safety on the road. It does not matter from which transport company the driver is from.”
The truck drivers were given flyers, a small gift and refreshments.
“Truck drivers have a thankless job. They are constantly on the road and their tucks are mainly their homes. We started the campaign in Steelpoort, then Heidelberg before moving up to Brits Toll Plaza and concluding at Nkomati Toll Plaza.
“This is our small way to say thank you to the drivers for what they are doing all year round. We want to do this on an annual basis and hope it will grow bigger as time passes.”
