On June 5, Diamante en Goud was hit by armed robbers.
It is believed a group of eight robbers entered the business and forced staff to lie on the ground.
The robbers were heavily armed and fled in two vehicles.
Crime Stop with SAPS, the traffic department, flying squad and local security gave chase.
Shots were fired and the Crime Stop vehicle was involved in an accident on Groenkloof Road.
Traffic department officials continued with the pursuit of the robbers onto the N3 highway.
Shots were fired from the robbers and one traffic officer was wounded and another was grazed by a bullet.
What was taken in the robbery has not yet been disclosed but it is believed to be a substantial amount of merchandise and jewellery.
The Heidelberg SAPS are investigating the robbery and are following up on leads.
The wounded officer was taken to hospital and is in stable condition.
In addition to this robbery, the past week has seen a spate of criminal incidents in the Heidelberg area.
Vehicles were stolen, Glam Hair Salon suffered their fourth break-in and Dop Store liquor shop was robbed at closing time.
There was also an attempted robbery at the old age home and other homes and a murder in Smit Street.
