Robberies are being committed in Heidelberg in broad daylight, with no regard for bystanders.
On July 1, thieves targeted the Exact store in the Victorian Village Shopping Centre.
At about 11:30, while the manager and staff were assisting customers, four suspects, three of them armed, entered the store.
As per the police report, the thieves ordered clients and staff to move to the back of the store.
Two suspects instructed the manager to open the cash register and then stole R3 944.
Then the thieves targeted the cellphone display cabinets and stole 35 cellphones.
The suspects fled in a silver Toyota Corolla. Investigations established that the registration plates were false.
While they escaped, the suspects fired a shot, but no one was injured.
In their attempt to flee, the suspects collided with another vehicle and then sped away.
The Heidelberg SAPS was on the scene.
The SAPS made no arrests, and their investigations are ongoing.
The value of the stolen cellphones is not yet known.
Last April, the same store suffered an armed robbery. The suspects were never apprehended.
