The Duduza SAPS arrested 31 offenders in a week.

Members of the Duduza SAPS arrested 31 people in the week of November 20.

The suspects were arrested for various offences which included:

• Eleven for possession of drugs

• Four on charges of assault.

• One on a count of murder.

• One on a count of rape.

• One was arrested for arson.

• Three were arrested for housebreaking and theft.

• Two were arrested for selling liquor without a licence.

“The arrests were made as a result of consistent efforts by the police and other law enforcement agencies,” said Sergeant Harry Manaka of the Duduza SAPS.

“It should be mentioned that other contributing factors to the successes are partnerships with the community through information and also the awareness campaigns which encourage the reporting of crime.”

All arrested suspects were expected to appear before the Nigel Magistrate Court throughout the course of the past week.
