Store owner fatally shot in Ratanda

Anyone with information is urged to contact the police.

The Ratanda SAPS is investigating a case of murder after the owner of a liquor outlet in Ratanda was shot in his store on March 18.

According to the information received, the owner and an employee were helping a customer at about 18:30.
A man entered the store pretending to be a customer. When he proceeded to the pay point, he reportedly shot the owner and walked out.

Paramedics on the scene declared the victim dead.

Officers found several cartridges at the scene.

Ratanda SAPS corporate communications officer Sergeant Moss Maluleke confirmed the incident.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police.

“All information will be treated as confidential,” added Lieutenant Colonel Muleleki Isaac Ramotshabi, the Ratanda SAPS station commander.
