Woman finds sister (71) fatally stabbed

The woman was found lying on her bed with a stab wound to her neck.

The body of a 71-year-old woman was found in Ratanda on November 13.

According to Sergeant Moss Maluleke, Ratanda SAPS corporate communications officer, police were summoned to a residence in Round 14, Ext 3.

Upon arrival, the SAPS members found the woman lying on her bed with a stab wound to her neck.

According to reports, the woman’s sister found the body and immediately called the police.

The door was closed, but no forced entry was visible.

The neighbours said the last time they saw the victim was November 12.

The EMS on the scene declared her dead.

The motive is presently unknown, and Ratanda SAPS is investigating.

Police plead with the community to assist and come forward with any information by calling the Ratanda SAPS on 016 343 7014 or 079 692 4853.
