Ratanda SAPS nab man for attempted murder

The victim was shot three times.

The Ratanda SAPS arrested a 39-year-old man for attempted murder after a shooting at the Obed Nkosi residential flats.

According to Sergeant Moss Maluleke, the Ratanda SAPS communications officer, the shooting occurred at about 09:30 on May 14.

The responding officers immediately went to the location. On arrival, they were told that the victim (30) had already been transported to the Sebokeng Hospital, so they went to the hospital to get a statement.

A search on May 15 saw the man arrested. It is alleged that the victim and the man were involved in an altercation before the shooting.

The victim was shot three times, twice in the back and once in the thigh.

The SAPS confiscated the man’s firearm for investigation and testing, and he will soon appear in the Heidelberg Magistrate’s Court.
