SAPS arrest suspect with drugs and knife in Vaal Marina
The community is warned to refrain from using drugs.
A successful arrest was made on June 11 in Vaal Marina, thanks to swift action by acting Vispol commander, Sergeant Bongani Lukhele.
While on standby duty, Sergeant Lukhele received a tip-off about a man allegedly involved in drug dealing. He acted immediately, tracking the suspect to a taxi headed towards Vaal Marina.
With assistance from Constable Matumise Brandy, the taxi was stopped, and, with the necessary consent, the suspect was searched.
Police discovered five packets of drugs and a knife in the suspect’s possession.

The suspect was arrested on charges of dealing in narcotics and possession of a dangerous weapon. He is expected to appear in court soon.
The SAPS has reiterated its warning to the community to refrain from using drugs.
“Say no to drugs. It ruins lives and kills. The police do not tolerate any form of crime in the community. Stay on the right side of the law and refrain from criminal activities,” said Constable Tshilidzi De Huis, SAPS corporate communications officer.
