Elderly care awareness event held
The Duduza SAPS along with other stakeholders formed part of the awareness event.
Members of the Duduza SAPS formed part of an elderly care awareness event on October 14.
The event was organised by the Zanele Mbeki Frail Care Centre and attended by various elderly care centres from Tsakani, Kwa-Thema and Duduza.
Other stakeholders that formed part of the event were the EMPD, the Department of Health, Community Safety and other NGOs.
Each stakeholder group presented programmes by the respective departments on the care of and services to the elderly.
The Duduza SAPS reiterated its commitment to protecting the elderly against gender-based violence and other criminal elements.
About 250 senior citizens attended the event and received gifts.
