Cambridge FC stumbles and regains momentum
The Cambridge team managed to bounce back during the second game.
Cambridge FC dropped their first points this season against Kathorus Hyper Academy.
The match was played in Vosloorus on November 30. It started well for Cambridge when they scored their first goal only 15 minutes into the game.
The game ended in a one-all draw.
“The match was disappointing,” said chairperson Ignatius Maphike of the club.
“The boys wasted a lot of opportunities. We could have pulled through with a win, but a goal scored at the end of the match by Oupa Junior Mbokazi was denied by the match officials.”
During the next match against Joburg City on December 3 at the Jim Fouché Stadium, the Cambridge team had the chance to bounce back.
The first goal of this match was scored 10 minutes into the game by Nthokozo Barker.
“It started to rain during the second half, but as there was no lightning we continued to play,” Maphike explained.
“Even with the difficult weather conditions, Cambridge striker Oupa Junior Mbokazi managed another beautiful goal.”
Cambridge won 2-0.
“Although the first game affected our boys’ mindset, we still managed to regain our momentum during the second match. I applaud the boys for their commitment.”
