Nigel detective praised for hard work
The accused in the case was sentenced to life imprisonment.
Ekurhuleni district commissioner Major General Anna Sithole has recently welcomed the successful convictions and sentencing of various suspects in the district.
She awarded certificates to the district detectives for their hard work and outstanding achievements in securing life imprisonments for the suspects who committed murder and attempted murder in numerous cases.
Among the detectives praised was Warrant Officer William Turner Wilkinson of the Nigel SAPS.
Wilkinson recently investigated a case whereby a victim and her partner were involved in an incident of road rage with the accused Modike Kenneth Mamadje in Nigel.
During the incident, the accused drove into the back of the victim’s car, killing her.
Her partner barely survived the accident.
During the trial, all witnesses testified and the investigating officer presented all the evidence that showed the intention of the accused.
The accused was found guilty by the Nigel Magistrate’s Court and was sentenced to life imprisonment.
