Acting workshop in Heidelberg

Workshop for aspiring actors.

Icons Talens Management Agency (ITMA) held an artist and acting workshop in Heidelberg City Hall on December 9.

There were speakers from various acting professions who provided the ins and outs and advice on what to do in the acting profession.

Facilitator Kgopotso Chawane gave information on character development.

Actor Kgopotso Chawane was a facilitator at the workshop.

Chawane (34) is an actor with a portfolio that includes shows like Gomora, Skeem Saam, and Giyane Land of Blood, to name a few.

Chawane was born in Bushbuckridge and grew up in Mokopane.

His professional CV includes working in the law industry, media, and radio broadcasting.

Thami Mbongo presented the scene analysis techniques.

Mbongo (44) is a professional actor, director and facilitator with over 20 years of experience.

Actor Thami Mbongo was a Facilitator at the workshop.

He is a born and bred Cape Town resident. Since Mbongo can remember, he always had an interest in arts, especially acting.

ITMA was established in Rensburg, Heidelberg in 2020. It works with aspiring actors and aims to provide them with opportunities in the entertainment industry.

“Our objective with the workshop is to foster a conducive learning environment for aspiring actors, provide invaluable industry insights from seasoned professionals, enhance skills in character development and scene analysis and facilitate networking opportunities for the participants,” said Violet Maseko, project manager.

“We want to get more locals into acting and these workshops are the ideal way to start.”
