Rand Water (RW) will undertake extensive maintenance of its infrastructure from June 22 to July 29. On July 5, RW will reduce Heidelberg’s water supply to 73% while they do the maintenance.
The areas affected will be Heidelberg, Jameson Park, Rensburg, Ratanda, Bergsig, Overkruin, Jordaan Park, Luckhoff, and Emmasdal.
The water reduction from Mapleton Pump Station will be effective for 24 hours. There will be no pumping to Endicott, Vischkuil, Kwanzenzele, Devon, Impumulelo and Devon Correctional Services.
The Bloemendal Pump Station will not be pumping water for 40 hours.
On July 24, the Mapleton Pump Station will not pump water for 77 hours to all the areas as mentioned above.
RW urged businesses to make arrangements to have water during the shutdown.
They requested residents to use water sparingly, including washing and flushing toilets.
