Cambridge FC keeping momentum

Slow start leads to big scoreline for Cambridge.

Cambridge Football Club (CFC) is making hay while the sun shines.

After losing one match, CFC had two consecutive games where they were on the winning side.

Cambridge FC played against Khatorus Juventus on November 16 at McKenzieville Stadium in Alra Park in the Hollywood Bets League.

The team looked vastly different from the previous match.

Due to not playing together often, the Alra Park team started slowly. However, they settled into their rhythm quickly.

The team created multiple opportunities but fell into the same old issue of not scoring from the opportunities in the beginning, though CFC had most of the possession.

The first goal was scored by Mbongiseni Messi Dlamimi. The goal started with a brilliant play from John Dube.

In the second half, the visiting team from Vosloorus tried to create chances but solid defence kept them from scoring.

Before kicking off, there was a pre-match coin toss (captain’s call) off the field.

Katleho Dumbele Molobela scored Cambridge FC’s second goal in the 50th minute.

Thereafter, Cambridge kept possession of the ball and did not give Juventus any opportunities to narrow the scoreline.

Sipho Sashman Karolo scored the third goal.

The final score was 3-0 to Cambridge FC.

“We will take the match one game at a time. The players need to stay focused. Belief in themselves and their teammates will be key,” said head coach John Fairhans Mosia.

“We thank the community that came out to support us. We cannot perform as well as we do without their support. We also want the supporters to refrain from offensive actions and not act unsportsmanlike,” concluded CFC chairperson Ignatius Maphike.
