Cambridge FC suffers second defeat in succession

Cambridge is lacking fire power said coach Mosia.

Cambridge Football Club hosted FC Legends from Thembisa on January 25 at MacKenzieville Stadium in Alra Park.
The match was part of the Hollywood Bets Football League.

Cambridge hoped to bounce back from a disappointing defeat the previous week but had to settle for another loss.

The team also dropped valuable points on the log.

The team started slowly and struggled to get into their rhythm the entire match, to convert scoring chances and lacked firepower.

FC Legends took full advantage of that and attacked from all corners of the field.

The opening goal from FC Legends came from a corner kick. The goalkeeper Banele Mthambama could not keep it under control and Legends were on hand to tap it into the goal.

In the second half, head coach John Mosia made various tactical changes, and it seemed to work as the team started playing as a unit for the first time in the match.

Musawhake Wahsehsa’s injury and replacement dealt Cambridge a blow because the injury changed the complexion of the game and Cambridge’s morale was dipping again.

In the 85th minute, Cambridge could level matters but squandered an easy chance.

FC Legends scored their second goal after Cambridge fumbled their chance and was able to stretch the lead.
Near the end of play, Cambridge could get a consolation goal.

“I have to strengthen the team and hopefully get a few more players. We lack quality to win matches,” said Cambridge head coach, John Mosia.

The Cambridge Reserve team restored some pride when they drew 2-2 with Umnyovu FC in the local league on January 26.
