Attempted robbery leads to arrest in Rensburg
Police are on the hunt for the other suspects.
The quick response to an attempted robbery in Rensburg resulted in the arrest of an armed suspect.
Several would-be robbers attempted to break in and rob a property along Coen Labuschagne Street on March 6.
An emergency voice note was sent to a relative for assistance. The relative in turn contacted the emergency WhatsApp group.
Various security companies, such as Crimestop, Emis Security, Fidelity ADT, Silver Security Group, Afriforum Heidelberg, and Lesedi Traffic together with Heidelberg SAPS responded and were on scene within minutes.
One suspect was arrested, while the others managed to escape.
The detained suspect, who was found in possession of a firearm, was handed over to Heidelberg SAPS.
Heidelberg SAPS requests any information or assistance in apprehending the other suspects.
