Lesedi backs Gauteng safety pact for stronger policing
Collaborative law enforcement strengthened across the province.
The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Gauteng Safety Agreement signing ceremony was held on April 15.
The event was held at the University of Johannesburg Soweto Campus.

Lesedi Local Municipality Executive Mayor Mluleki Nkosi was present and signed the agreement of integrated policing for effective municipal jurisdiction law enforcement.
Through this intergovernmental safety agreement, law enforcement is uniting with municipalities, CPFs, and communities in one mission: To protect people to feel safe and not live in fear. Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi was in attendance and signed the agreement as well.

“This day marks a milestone in strengthening collaborative law enforcement across the province,” said Lesufi.
The MoU brings together the Gauteng Provincial Government, SAPS, municipal police departments, and district and local law enforcement.
