SAPS seek help regarding missing student

Phakamile Mapfumi has been missing since going to a party.

The Ratanda SAPS appeals to the community for help locating Phakamile Mapfumi, who has been missing since April 27.

Authorities urge anyone with information that could help trace his whereabouts to come forward.

According to information from a friend of Mapfumi’s, a group of friends went to a party at the corner of Blesbok and Mathebula streets in Ratanda on April 27 at about 17:00.

Thet left at about 02:00 on April 28 and went to a friend’s house. According to the report, Mapfumi decided to return to the party.

When the friends realised that Mapfumi did not know anyone at the party, they returned to the premises to look for him, but he was nowhere to be found.

The next day, the friends tried to phone him, but no one answered. They later found his cellphone where he stayed. It is believed Mapfumi has no relatives in Ratanda.

He was last seen wearing a black jacket and black denim pants.

Mapfumi is originally from Siyabuswa Village in Mpumalanga. He is a student at Sedibeng College, living in the Shalimar Ridge residential units on the R549 (Vaal Dam Road).

Anyone with information can call the Ratanda SAPS on 016 343 7014 or the detective branch on 079 692 4853.
