Medal success for Tenshinkan students at North Gauteng Championships

Tenshinkan students brought home Gold, Silver and Bronze medals at the North Gauteng Championships on November 8, 2025. Sensei Leon Gagiano praised their dedication, discipline, and sportsmanship.

Tenshinkan students capped off an impressive year by excelling at the North Gauteng Championships held in Brakpan recently.

They brought home medals across all categories, including gold, silver, and bronze.

The championship was the final competition of the year for the students, who demonstrated dedication, skill and discipline.

Sensei Leon Gagiano reflected on the students’ achievement with pride.

“I am proud of every single student who participated in the North Gauteng Championships. Their performance demonstrates not only their technical skills but also their commitment, resilience, and the values we strive to instil at Tenshinkan.

“Winning a medal, whether gold, silver, or bronze, is a wonderful achievement, but the journey, effort, and discipline shown along the way are even more important. These students have spent months preparing, pushing themselves beyond their limits, supporting one another, and learning to handle both victory and defeat with humility and respect,” he said.

Gagiano reiterated the importance of nurturing personal growth and building confidence.

“Competitions like this are about much more than trophies; they are about personal growth, teamwork, and building confidence that extends far beyond the dojo. As we prepare for our final grading exam on 29 November, I’m confident that our students will continue to demonstrate these qualities and finish the year with a sense of pride and accomplishment.”

The final grading exam for 2025 is scheduled for November 29, bringing the year to a successful close for Tenshinkan students and instructors.
