Low water pressure disrupts Heidelberg and surrounding areas

Residents and businesses in Heidelberg and nearby areas are facing low water pressure.

Heidelberg and the surrounding areas are experiencing low water pressure following challenges with the bulk water supply from Rand Water.

The Lesedi Local Municipality (LLM) confirmed on January 20 that the Heidelberg command reservoirs have dropped to critically low levels.

This has resulted in some residents and businesses receiving little to no water, while others are experiencing significantly reduced water pressure.

According to the municipality, the situation is linked to reduced water supply volumes from Rand Water, the area’s bulk water supplier.

LLM said it is working closely with Rand Water to address the challenge and restore the water supply.

In the interim, the municipality urged residents and businesses to reduce water consumption, as the water system remains under severe strain.

The municipality appealed to the community for patience and cooperation while efforts continue to resolve the water supply challenges.
