Ekurhuleni redeploys 8 repaired waste trucks
The City of Ekurhuleni’s commitment to the Fixing the Frontline programme is improving waste collection.
The City of Ekurhuleni has confirmed that eight waste compactor trucks, recently returned from mechanical repair workshops, have been officially handed back by City Manager Kagiso Lerutla.
The milestone forms part of the City’s ongoing Fixing the Frontline initiative, which aims to enhance service delivery and reduce reliance on outsourced service providers.
The trucks will be redeployed to various depots across the city to strengthen waste collection services and ensure efficient refuse removal for residents.
“The redeployment of these trucks will improve the city’s waste management capacity, ensuring that communities continue to receive reliable and consistent services,” said a City of Ekurhuleni spokesperson.
The move forms part of broader efforts to maintain and modernise the municipal fleet while optimising internal resources to improve service delivery.
