East Rand Air Rifle Cub kicks off the year with fun shoot

The East Rand Air Rifle Club hosted its first fun shoot of the year at Vinkvlei, welcoming new faces and offering a relaxed, hands-on introduction to Hunter Field Target shooting.

The East Rand Air Rifle Club (ERAC) hosted their first fun shoot for the year at Vinkvlei on Saturday.

The atmosphere was relaxed as participants helped build the course while simultaneously being motivated by the coaches.

“There were numerous new faces, which is encouraging to us; it is great to introduce new shooters to Hunter Field Target (HFT) shooting,” Kelly Snibbe from ERAC said.

Each participant received a scorecard – their first shot counts for the scorecard, and thereafter they practised on the target to learn what they did wrong if they missed the first time round.

Snibbe called it a great learning environment for all levels of shooting and encouraged interested people to join the club.

“HFT caters for both the competitive shooter as well as a social shooter who just wants to enjoy a day out in nature with like-minded people,” she said.

ERAC will host a league shoot on February 7 at Vinvlei Venue. Anyone interested in shooting can come and see what it is all about.
