Emergency volunteers and Netcare paramedics attended to several medical emergencies and a motor vehicle accident in Heidelberg, highlighting a demanding weekend for them.

Emergency volunteers in Heidelberg, working with Netcare paramedics, responded to several incidents between February 7 and 8.

On February 7, they were called tohelp a man who had lost consciousness and sustained a head injury following a fall.

They treated the patient at the scene before Netcare transported him to a local hospital for further medical care.

That evening, emergency teams responded to another medical emergency: A man experiencing seizures. The teams stabilised the patient on the scene, and Netcare transported him to a hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

On February 8, volunteers were dispatched to a car accident on HF Verwoerd Street involving a motorcycle and a light motor vehicle. There were no serious injuries reported, and all parties were assessed at the scene.

Emergency services again highlighted the importance of co-operation between volunteers and medical personnel, noting that a prompt response plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of the community.
