Protesters gathered at the Alra Park four-way crossing, burning tyres and causing significant congestion, demonstrating growing frustration among those who alleged the water shortages have persisted for months.

Resident Mpho Khuzwayo said they are discontented and demand urgent municipal action.
“We have had no proper water supply for weeks, and it is affecting our daily lives. We are forced to wait for water tankers or use unsafe alternatives. The municipality needs to immediately respond because residents cannot keep living like this,” he said.

Another resident said living without water is affecting their health, “Our children and elderly are the most affected, especially those with chronic diseases. We have reported these problems many times, but nothing changes. We had no choice but to make our voices heard through this protest.”
Local authorities are monitoring the situation, and no injuries were reported.
