Low water pressure leaves Heidelberg without reliable supply

Residents of Heidelberg and surrounding areas are urged to conserve water as the town’s reservoirs run dry. The Lesedi Local Municipality reported that supply pressure from Rand Water has dropped dangerously low, with no immediate solution expected.

The residents of Heidelberg and its surrounding areas face renewed water disruptions after reservoirs supplying the town were again left empty.

This comes after the Lesedi Local Municipality (LLM) gave an update on its Facebook page on February 15, indicating that incoming supply pressure from Rand Water dropped to just under 100kPa, significantly below the level required to adequately replenish local reservoirs.

The LLM stated that the matter had been reported to the bulk water supplier, and officials are awaiting feedback and intervention.

Residents should use available water sparingly while the situation remains unresolved.
