Municipality continues grass cutting programme despite weather challenges

Municipal parks teams were on the ground on February 5 cutting overgrown grass in public spaces as part of ongoing efforts to keep communities clean, safe and well maintained.

Residents in Heidelberg may notice municipal teams hard at work clearing overgrown grass as part of ongoing service delivery efforts across the area.

On February 5, the municipality’s parks team was on the ground cutting long grass in several public spaces to improve the environment and ensure communities remain clean and safe.

Municipal spokesperson Katleho Seaga said that although weather conditions sometimes present challenges, the municipality remains committed to ensuring that essential services continue.

“Despite challenging weather conditions that may at times slow progress, the municipality remains firmly committed to delivering essential services to our residents.

“Our teams are on the ground daily and continue to work with determination and urgency to ensure that our communities remain clean, safe and well-maintained. Maintaining public spaces is important not only for the environment, but also for the safety and well-being of residents who make use of these areas,” he said.

Seaga added that the grass-cutting programme forms part of the municipality’s broader environmental maintenance efforts.

“Through the municipality’s ongoing grass cutting and environmental maintenance programme, dedicated municipal teams are actively deployed across various areas to clear overgrown grass, maintain public spaces and improve the overall appearance of our communities.

“These efforts are aimed at restoring the neat and dignified environment our residents deserve, while also ensuring that public spaces remain accessible and safe for everyone,” he said.
