Truck and light commercial vehicle collide on R23, leaving 4 injured
Emergency services responded to a serious collision on the R23 near Overkruin on June 23, where four people sustained injuries and two were transported to hospital for further treatment.
Four people were injured when a truck and a light commercial vehicle collided on the R23 near the Overkruin entrance on June 23.
The accident prompted a swift response from emergency services, traffic officials and towing companies.
According to information received by Rensburg Forum through local emergency communication networks, emergency personnel arrived at the scene and found towing services already assisting while medical teams assessed those involved in the collision.

Four occupants sustained injuries in the crash. Two of the injured were transported to the hospital by Gauteng Provincial Government Emergency Medical Services for further treatment, while the remaining two received medical attention at the scene.
Traffic along the R23 was affected as emergency responders worked to secure the area and ensure motorists’ safety while recovery and cleanup operations were underway.
Motorists travelling through the area were urged to exercise caution and remain alert to the presence of emergency vehicles and personnel.

Rensburg Forum expressed its appreciation to all role players involved in the response, including Lesedi Traffic, Gauteng Provincial Government Emergency Medical Services and the towing companies that assisted at the scene.
Safari Towing, Dave’s Towing and Holloway Towing were among the recovery teams that responded to the incident.
The cause of the collision has not yet been determined and is expected to form part of an investigation by the relevant authorities.
