Lucky D Boxing seeks sponsors to revive amateur boxing in Lesedi
Lucky D Boxing Club is appealing to businesses and community members for equipment, training facilities and sponsorship to nurture young boxing talent and expand its programmes across Lesedi.
Lucky D Boxing Club and the Lesedi Amateur Boxing Association are appealing to businesses, private donors and community stakeholders to help develop amateur boxing and create opportunities for young people across the Lesedi Local Municipality.
Despite limited resources and training in a makeshift garage in Ratanda, the club continues to nurture aspiring boxers.
However, the organisation says it needs boxing gloves, protective headgear, punching bags and suitable training facilities to expand its programmes.
The association says its Rensburg club is fully operational, with plans to expand into Devon and other communities.
Lucky Dlamini, founder of Lucky D Boxing Club, said community and local business support would make a meaningful difference to the future of young athletes.
“Our goal is to give young people in Lesedi a fighting chance through boxing.
“We want to create an environment where they can develop their talent, learn discipline and build confidence while working towards a better future. Unfortunately, we cannot achieve this alone. We appeal to businesses, individuals, and potential sponsors for boxing equipment, suitable training facilities, or financial assistance. Every contribution, no matter how small, can help us reach more young people and build champions in our communities,” he said.
The club is also preparing for upcoming amateur tournaments, including a development tournament planned for the Ratanda Multi-Purpose Hall, which aims to allow local boxers to showcase their skills.
Businesses and individuals willing to contribute equipment, facilities or sponsorship can contact Lucky D Boxing Club and the Lesedi Amateur Boxing Association on 076 879 8311.
