Cambridge on top of the leaderbord

Cambridge FC made a strong start to the league.

Cambridge FC played Black Scorpions at McKenzieville Stadium, Alra Park, on October 27 in the Hollywood Bets League.

Cambridge FC emerged victorious, winning 5-0.

Cambridge started strongly and showed their intent early in the match where they dominated play and territory.
The weather conditions made it difficult to keep control of the ball.

Initially, the Scorpions succeeded in holding out Cambridge and kept them from scoring.

The longer the match went on the more dominance was evident with Cambridge attacking from all areas.

Late in the first half Cambridge managed to score two quick goals.

The second half was a copycat of the start of the first half where Cambridge initially failed to score from multiple scoring opportunities.

In the first goal of the second half, one of Black Scorpions own players inadvertently put the ball back into their own net.

In the final 10 minutes, Cambridge scored two more goals.

Player of the match was Mpumelelo Klipa Mazibuko

“We will take the win and can only improve from here on. With the assistance of the newly appointed senior coach Fairhands Mosia Choki who has already added value to the technical team the sky is the limit for us,” said head coach Minihle Dineka Mthimkhulu.

“We want to thank VPS Haulers for the sponsor with the pre-match kit. We also want to thank the community for coming out in numbers despite the weather,” said Cambridge Club chairperson Ignatius Maphike.

Cambridge is currently sitting pretty on top of the log.

The team will next travel to Kempton Park to face Future of Africa Academy.
