A thrilling round of fixtures in the Mzumbe Masters Soccer tournament delivered goals, drama, and dominant displays at Obed Ground on April 12.

The day kicked off with a closely contested encounter between Hot Beans FC and Abadlali Masters. In a match filled with attacking intent, Abadlali edged out their opponents 4-3 in a seven-goal spectacle, setting the tone for an action-packed day.

Heidelberg FC followed with an impressive performance, securing a convincing 4-1 victory over Jusca FC in the late morning fixture.

Heidelberg displayed composure and clinical finishing, asserting itself as a strong contender in the competition.

In the early afternoon clash, Big Nuz FC continued the trend of dominant performances with a solid 2-0 win against Sky City FC.

Their disciplined approach and defensive stability ensured they walked away with maximum points. The most emphatic result of the day came when Inhliziyo FC delivered a commanding 5-0 victory over Amajita FC. Inhliziyo’s ruthless attacking display and defensive solidity made them one of the standout teams of the round.

Wrapping up the day’s action, Madrid FC secured a narrow 2-1 win over Lizos FC in a tightly contested match.

League co-ordinator Elvis Mahlangu praised the overall standard of play and the growth of the tournament.

“We are very encouraged by the level of competition we are seeing this season. The teams are well-prepared, and the matches are highly competitive.

“This tournament continues to grow and provide a platform for local talent to showcase their abilities. The support from families and the community is vital. It motivates the players and helps us build a strong football culture in Heidelberg,” he said.
