Alrapark Enshin Karate students impress at tough Gauteng Provincial Grading
Ismaeel Arnold achieved his green belt after a standout kata performance during a rigorous five-hour testing session in Johannesburg.
Alrapark Enshin Karate Dojo athletes delivered impressive performances at the Gauteng Provincial Grading, demonstrating their skill, discipline and determination during a demanding five-hour session at the Orange Farm Dojo in Johannesburg on August 29.
The grading, which ran from 09:00 to 14:00, tested the athletes’ technical ability, physical endurance and mental strength as they competed for advancement in their respective belt levels.
Despite the intensity of the session, the Alrapark students remained focused and performed strongly, earning praise for their commitment and preparation. Enshin Karate South Africa head Shihan German Visser said he was proud of the athletes and their performances.
“It was a tough grading, but the students showed tremendous discipline, determination and commitment. I am extremely proud of the way they approached the challenge and performed under pressure. Their progress is a reflection of the hard work they put in during training,” he said.
Inter-dojo competition
The provincial grading also brought together karate practitioners from Enshin dojos in Alrapark, Sunrise, Vosloorus, Tshwane and Eden Park, providing an opportunity for athletes from different clubs to test themselves in a competitive environment.
One of the standout moments came during Ismaeel Arnold’s kata performance. His technical display earned enthusiastic applause from those present and was rewarded with his promotion to green belt.
Arnold’s achievement provided a fitting highlight to a day that celebrated not only individual progression, but also the dedication, discipline and sporting spirit that underpin Enshin karate.
