More than 200 branded sneakers donated to Devon residents through community upliftment initiative

A partnership between The Sneaker Shack, Totalsports and Greater Devon United People's Projects has brought smiles to hundreds of Devon residents after more than 200 pairs of premium branded sneakers were distributed to children and adults in need, restoring dignity and inspiring hope throughout the community.

More than 200 pairs of branded sneakers were recently distributed to residents of Devon through a community upliftment initiative led by Greater Devon United People’s Projects, in partnership with The Sneaker Shack and Totalsports.

The donation brought much-needed support to children and adults in the community, providing recipients with premium branded footwear that would otherwise be beyond the reach of many disadvantaged families.

The sneakers, ranging in sizes from UK 4 to UK 12, catered to a wide range of beneficiaries.

According to Liesl Rittles of Greater Devon United People’s Projects, the initiative was about more than simply providing shoes.

“For many of the recipients, this was not just a pair of sneakers. It was an opportunity to experience dignity, confidence, hope and the knowledge that people care about their well-being.

“The partnership between The Sneaker Shack and Totalsports made it possible to distribute footwear valued between R1 500 and R2 500 per pair, bringing excitement and gratitude to recipients throughout the community,” she said.

Rittles also thanked both organisations for their generosity and commitment to community development.

“We are incredibly grateful to The Sneaker Shack and Totalsports for partnering with us. Their contribution has made a real difference in the lives of many families and has brought joy to people who often face significant challenges.

“The organisation has already assisted a learner in securing placement at a school better suited to their educational needs and capabilities. We also continue to run a successful after-school literacy programme that is aimed at empowering and supporting underprivileged learners in the rural Devon community,” she said.
