A water crisis has once again struck in Ermelo leaving residents in the higher lying areas of the town without running water for six days and longer.
Residents in the north and north eastern areas of the town have once again been hardest hit.
In a statement received on Monday, the spokesman for Msukaligwa Municipality, Mr Mandla Zwane said,
“Certain areas are experiencing water shortages due to the fact the 400mm permanent pipeline from Rietspruit reservoirs ( ie. the pipeline that is used to supplement raw water supply to Douglas Dam) cracked on Thursday last week. Repairs are currently being undertaken.”
Water supply to the affected areas was due to be restored by Monday night but in certain areas residents were still without water on Tuesday.
