Municipality switches lights off
Municipal workers were in the past attacked trying to do their job.
Msukaligwa Municipality’s Technical Services paid a surprise visit to hostel dwellers of Emndeni Hostel in Wesselton inspecting illegal connections this morning.
During the inspections, a number of illegal connections were found and disconnected, illegal cables estimated to be more than 2000 meters were also ripped off.
Armed with the service of a local security company, the contractors ripped every piece of cable and units found with illegal connections were served with letters of fine.
Residents of Mndeni Hostel had in the past attacked municipal workers or contract workers trying to do their job.
