An armed robbery took place in the early hours of Friday morning on the road to Piet Retief, when a truck driver parked at a stopover was held at gunpoint.
Six truck wheels and rims valued at an estimated R36 000 were stolen.
According to the driver of the truck, a light motor vehicle parked nearby and an African male descended. He approached the truck, shining a torch in the window and holding a handgun.
He dragged the driver from the truck, tied him up, leaving him in the veld before making off his loot.
