Ermelo Police are investigating a case of armed robbery after two men had broken into a shop in Wesselton.
The incident happened on Thursday, 12 July at 7.30pm.
According to the police spokesman, Capt Carla Prinsloo, a 49-year-old man said he was closing up his shop in Wesselton when he was confronted by two men who forced his shop open.
One of the men was armed and hit the owner of the shop over the head with the firearm.
“The men stole cash, airtime coupons and cigarettes from the shop before they fled on foot,” said Capt Prinsloo.
