Sheepmoor Police arrest many in a stock theft operation

Some suspects were arrested after being found in possession of stolen stock while others were arrested for failing to mark their stock.

A number of people were arrested for various crimes regarding livestock after Sheepmoor Police went on a stock theft operation on Thursday, 23 August.

Messrs Mthunzi Thenjwayo (27), Ronnie Ndlangamandla (27) and Bonginkosi Kunene (22) were arrested after they were found in possession of four stolen cattle.

Messrs Lungisani Shongwe (23) and Don Madonsela (46) were arrested for failing to mark their stock.

Messrs Samuel Sibanyoni (33), Zakhele Mhlongo (42) and Duma Zwane (42) were arrested for being in possession of two cattle after the owner had opened a case of stock theft.

The suspects appeared in the Ermelo Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 24 August.
