A man was arrested on a charge of common robbery in Fernie on Saturday, 25 August.
According to Fernie Police’s spokesman, Const Thabane Ngwenya, the suspect robbed a man at about 1.30pm and stole his cell phone and R200.
“Later in the day, the suspect was apprehended and arrested by Det Const Muzikayifani Thela,” Const Ngwenya said.
The suspect appeared in the Mayflower Periodical Court on Monday, 27 August and was remanded for a bail application on Wednesday, 29 August.
An investigation is still ongoing for the remaining suspects as the suspect apparently had accomplices.
