A case of rape is being investigated after a 16-year-old girl reported a rape to the Ermelo Police.
She was on her way home at 1am on Sunday morning from a local tavern when she was confronted by an unknown man.
The man allegedly hit the girl with an iron bar and dragged her to a bush where he raped her.
He also allegedly assaulted her before he fled on foot. The girl was admitted to the local hospital.
The alleged rape took place in Ext 34 in Sun City on the Piet Retief road.
